Wake, N is the third mini-album released by NU'EST W. It was released on November 26, 2018 in Korea. This is NU'EST W's final promotions as the members will be reuniting with Minhyun for a full group promotion as NU'EST in 2019.
Concept[]
"Help Me" is the lead single off of Wake, N, one of only two songs along with "L.I.E" on the album to feature all four members of NU'EST W. The other four tracks of the EP are solo songs by each member. Aron starts out the set with the song "Wi-Fi", an R&B/soul-based track, while JR continues with his signature rap solo "I Hate You". Ren's "You & I" is a stirring acoustic ballad, and Baekho's "Feels" is a dance-pop track that ends the album.
Promotions[]
On November 12th, the group released a prologue video to announce the comeback. The group then released 3 versions of photo teasers: Dream, Crack, Collapse along with 3 "concept passages" to accompany each teaser sets.
The first concept passage is from the poem “The Season of Loss” by Chae Min Sung. It reads:
"There was a time when romance was lost.
The only thing lost was romance,
but it turned the world upside down.
The only thing that had left was one person,
but it made the seasons change."
The second concept passage is excerpted from Lee Jung Ha’s “Island”. It reads:
“I was always alone.
It was the fact that I was alone
that made me hate opening my eyes.
Will I be swept away somewhere while I’m like this.”
The last concept passage is the poem “The Dream Cracks” by Yoon Dong Joo. Full translation of the poem can be found here.
